I do not know how it happens, but time flashes past and before I know it two months have gone without a new post.
Well, a summary of what has happened during this period follows:
Our vegetable lands were badly hit by a 10 minute hail storm early February. I suppose about 30% were damaged beyond repair, but the rest seems to have struggled back to a state fit for sale. I have planted a number of different items this year to see how they react to our winter.
So far, green Peppers are doing OK, Chillies will definitely not work here. I have seeded some trays with Leeks and also testing onions, which I am sure will work. The regulars, Garlic, Beetroot, Turnips and Spinach are all in the ground and doing well.
Our layer chickens are currently not producing as many eggs a sign I think of autumn in the air.
We have had a good month for the Adirondack chairs, with 8 chairs and two tables sold, contributing much needed cash flow for the month of February.
My good old friend Themba is back with us painting away at the house. You might recall that some 9 months ago we noted the important things in life when he collapsed on the job- diabetes!!!
Chicken sales remain slack but I think a sign of the times.
Family all well.
