FEELINGS cont

How were we to cope without our comfortable regular contact with our group of friends in the city? Well, most have come out to the farm and spent many a happy weekend rambling through the paddocks, the indigenous forrests and along the stream to the waterfall. Our visits to the city started out frequently, but slowly reduced. Along the way we stopped seeing some people, not because we wanted to, but the farm priorities grew. Feelings of sadness at these losses of contact still linger, a downside we regret.

Feelings of "can we become almost self sufficient" were positive motivation to try. Gradually, we have produced more of a wider variety of vegetable and animal products to say that we could almost comfortably live without the supermarket packets/punnets and plastic containers. I said could, because we still buy quite a lot of nice things including milk and bread. Anne reminds me that we also get sweeties, chocolates and potato chips..... Well so much for self sufficiency.
