It's a very strange year for weather conditions. This week has been almost balmy 23/4degree days with cool 5-7 degree nights. Still no rain, and clearly no snow but we wait patiently and hope.
The lambs are growing and the whole flock is in good condition. I am supplimenting feed and vitamins to make sure. The layers continue to produce egss on a ninety six percent lay rate.. good as far as the experts can tell me.
We have been a parking lot for the roadworks people, a grader, water tanker and roller for the past ten days. Very noisy mornings with high rev noise and the grader belching smoke--- don't know if I will offer safe parking again though.
The first batch of chicks has had a high mortality rate, which we attribute to the cool/cold nights. I hope it is only this reason.
I have ordered 60 bags of seed potatoe which we will plant in around 4 weeks time. Need to prepare the ground but my back is playing up!!
