Sadly, this has been the worst year on my records for rainfall. The small eastern boundry stream is still trickling but at such a minimal rate that we can only pump out the pond quantity in 30 mins. This makes irrigated crops a tricky prospect to get class results.
In chatting with neighbouring farms, the story remains similar, lowest rainfalls on their records. My good friend Peter advises that we need a good day and a half of snow followed by 4 days of sunshine, followed by the first spring rains.
So I say OK where is it? Cold fronts have threatened but only snowed on the Drakensberg. Well here is my wishlist.
It can get cold and snow anytime it wants from now on. No more complaining about chilly weather from me, at least for the rest of this year.
