Well it is the last day of October 2012 and the temperature in a sheltered spot is 6 degrees, the wind has blown most of today so outside is distinctly unpleasant.
The veggies tend to stop growing during the cold snaps and indeed this was so during todays inspection. The carrots have been severely attacked by a large clan of monkeys who have come down from then tops due to the weather.
I had to chase a baboon group yesterday, who decided the potatoes were easy picking food source.
Other than that I expect to get some additional plantings ready for harvest within a week or so.
My first Turnip planting has yielded good size healthy Turnips, sold 5 bunches yesterday.
Worrying, although I am sure for no good reason, the Sweetcorn plantings remain very slow growing, and present a torrid weeding programme to keep them clear and healthy. Not sure I will repeat next year, if I do later planting perhaps.
