Well, after 3 years- back again and hope that someone out there may find this interesting.
The farm has all but paid the running costs, I have just completed the income statement and costs required to service the farm.
bits of interesting info maybe:-

1. Turnover achieved R975000 ave-per year R325000


2. Costs required R1082000 -ave per year R360600


3. Nett diff per year R34400 or R2950 per month in the red- not too bad for a little farm!


4. We have sold almost 28000 chickens during this period

It is unfortunate that we have to shut operations for about weeks during mid-winter as it gets too cold for the chicks- this in a way only gives us 10 selling months per year vs 12 months costs
